Marijke Durning, RN - Writer & Editor

With the continuing growth of the Internet and the increasing quest for knowledge, good quality medical and health writing, editing, and proofreading has never been more important.

Whether you are targeting a professional audience or the general public, you’ve come to the right place.

If you’re looking for general writing, editing, and proofreading, I can do that too.

Good writing never goes out of style.

 A Bit About My Name

If you aren't sure about how to say my name, don't worry - you're not the first to wonder. I was born in Canada of Dutch parents. "Marijke" is a Dutch name. Phonetically, my name is said muh-rye´-kah/keh. If you can roll the "r", all the better.

Why Hire Me

With my experience as a registered nurse, I bring to my writing a unique understanding of both professional and general public audiences.

My Other Website and Blogs

Please visit my other website, wordsnthings.com.  This is my general writing website. Right now, there is information on my new book, Oscar's Diaries, Life as a Retired Greyhound.

My blog, Help My Hurt, is a good resource for the healthcare consumer and patient. We talk about pain, prevention, management, and living with pain. In May, 2008, I launched a blog on pregnancy and health, called Womb Within. This blog discusses health issues in pregnancy, from hiring a doula to having a c-section.

Marijke: nurse turned writer, is a personal blog about health issues in the news, with a bit of freelance writing information thrown in. Finally, Nurses' Notes, is a blog for nurses about the latest issues that have come up in the news or the workplace.
